I’m a “container of multitudes”, working on embracing my many selves while I encourage others to do the same. Having had a camera in my hand since my teens, I’m always exploring not only what is seen but diving into what is unseen.

A mid-life mama with two teens, I’m also the holder of degrees and certifications in Psychology, Human Sexuality, Yoga, and Meditation.

I love combining my training in wisdom + movement + joy + stillness into all of my photographic journeys, alone and with others.

I’m a cheerleader for living a more fully authentic life, and definitely a creative + playful spirit myself.

I love talking with + photographing others who share this desire to explore life.

• Playful Photography •

Feel free to just be.

Photography experiences with Lisa are sessions designed to focus just as much on your experience as on the photographs.

Your experience of being photographed deeply impacts the final photo, and I want both to be as memorable as possible.

Together, we get playful. Playful doesn’t have to mean play-dough and giggles (but it certainly can).

“Play” is a way of exploring, without judgment or expectations.

By being playful, you can explore who you are outside of the pressures of who you feel you should be.

Traditional portrait, family, couples, or senior sessions are infused with this attitude. We will get photos to mark those special moments and times together, AND we will have fun doing it!

Full photography sessions are created to photograph you experiencing emotions, moods, costumes, movements, or personas that you usually don’t get to explore on a daily basis (or that you simply want to explore more). This time is about exploring and telling the story of who you truly are.

• VALUES •

Because this unique form of photography focuses on your experience, it’s important that you and I have a trusting relationship while working together. I want you to feel fully comfortable!

Here is a small part of what I believe:

• LGBTQIA+ individuals are beautiful, worthy, and deserve our support and love. (Lisa Renee Wilson Photography is a woman+queer-owned business.)

• Black lives matter.

• All body types and sizes are inherently beautiful. Rolls, wrinkles, dimples, othered-abilities, flat stomachs, jiggly stomachs, surgical scars, triple chins … it’s all part of who you are, which makes it all truly, uniquely beautiful.

I do not allow hateful speech nor actions during our time together. If that is an issue for you, I’m not the photographer for you.

The Studio

The airy, light-filled studio, located in downtown Bloomington, Indiana, is easily accessible from IU and surrounding Bloomington towns. (It’s also conveniently located within walking distance to several restaurants and bars for entertainment before or after your session!)
